Bethany’s April 20 Easter Sunday service was uplifting and joyous—and experienced by more than 70 people. The multi-generational congregation was led in worship by Rev. Elias Burgos, with Kathy Frank serving as liturgist. Jim Guida delivered a spirited children’s message; telling the kids that Jesus is the biggest super hero of all time, he distributed super hero comic books to them.
During the first hymn, all of the children scrambled to find Easter eggs that had been hidden in the choir loft.
Trisha Uhrhammer and Peter Baird led the congregation in the contemplative anthem “Jesus, Remember Me.” Musical accompanists included Manh Ong and Cathy Sapunor.
The festivities continued with a delicious brunch served in Farrand Hall after the service.
Many thanks to those who brought food, decorated the sanctuary, donated candy, plastic eggs and Easter baskets; and stuffed and hid the Easter eggs! And join us in thanking Wendy Aiello for again purchasing the beautiful Easter lilies which graced our sanctuary and were then taken to the homes of shut-ins.
