Worship Service • January 5, 2025 • Epiphany/Three Kings Day

Rev. Judy Davis led today’s service—the first of the year 2025—focusing on new beginnings. We observed Epiphany—when the magi visited the newborn Christ Child—by having our own “three kings” visit us. Each person present received a small gift from the magi. Portraying the three kings were Manh Ong, Saul Rivera and Tom Uhrhammer.

Rev. Judy’s message was entitled “Magi From Afar.” Scripture readings included Matthew 2: 1-12 and Isaiah 49: 5-6.

Communion was served and donations of canned and packaged goods for the SSIP Food Closet were collected.

Hymns, accompanied by Cathy Sapunor (piano). Manh Ong (guitar) and Sherry McHurd Hanson (viola), included:

  • “We Three Kings of Orient Are”

  • “As With Gladness, Men of Old”

  • “We Bring the Frankincense of Our Love”

  • “In Christ There Is No East or West”
